My name is Kylie Catto and I am honoured to be in my fourth term as the 27th President of the Western Australian Council of State School Organisations Inc. (WACSSO).
I first came to WACSSO in 2001 as the Councillor for the Pilbara West electorate. After a full three year term I moved south with my family where I was elected as the State Councillor for the Bunbury Electorate in May 2004, a position I held until September 2011 when I was elected President.
I have been involved with P&Cs since 1997 when my eldest daughter started school. Over the years I have held a variety of committee positions on both P&Cs and School Councils. I credit my enthusiasm for volunteer involvement to my parents who were always active members of our local community.
In addition to my extensive voluntary involvement with education I have previously worked at a Senior High School in a number of roles. This variety of exposure to the education system has given me valuable knowledge and experience to draw from.
As WACSSO President I aim to provide a strong voice on behalf of parent organisations in Western Australia, building on the excellent work done at local levels by our affiliates. I will work collaboratively with your elected State Council to influence the direction of education for the benefit of students. Together we will strive to ensure that the diverse needs of students in WA schools are recognised, and adequately met and responded to by Government.
If you would like to discuss any matters to do with WACSSO, parent organisations or education in general in Western Australia you can contact me by e-mail: firstname.lastname@example.org or mobile 0477 644 000.
