The staff provide expert advice and administer the services offered to affiliates. Our dedicated and professional team is more than willing to assist you and your association in meeting the aims and objectives of the P&C Constitution.

Affiliate Services

My role as the Affiliate Services Officer is to promote WACSSO and the services we provide to our affiliate organisations.

I am the key contact for affiliate inquiries. I am responsible for the coordination of the material for all State Council meetings, this includes the agenda, minutes, bookings of flights, accommodation, menus etc; also the agenda and teleconference bookings for the Executive meetings and the task of coordinating the WACSSO Annual Conference including sponsorship.

I am the coordinator for the P&C Voice publication - the production, content, advertising and distribution.

I also aid and support to the President and State Council, Annual Conference and manage the day to day activities of our casual clerical staff, plus collaborating with other staff members to ensure constitutional and completing deadlines are met.

I attend meetings of State Council and Annual Conference and provide reports on the organisational areas of responsibility I have outlined.

Communications & Research

Position Vacant

This position is responsible for research, analysis, submissions and other written communications related to education at state and federal level.

The Communications & Research position coordinates, produces and distributes the WACSSO eNews and manages the WACSSO website, social media and other digital communications. The position also edits the WACSSO publication: P&C Voice.

As the CRO, the position advises WACSSO State Council on the interpretation, application and implication of Department of Education policies/functions. The CRO may sit on many external committees, attend these meetings, and assist in the development and revision of legislation, standards, and codes of practice and guidance notes, as directed by State Council or the President.

Another of the CRO's responsibilities is providing advice to, and liaising with, stakeholders and the media on WACSSO policy and the direction of the organisation.

Corporate Support

Position Vacant

This position provides corporate support to the President, Executive and Councillors of the organisation. The Corporate Support Officer provides the highest possible level of service to affiliated P&C Associations.

The CRO is also responsible for agenda preparation and minute taking for meetings of State Council. The position ensures all relevant information is provided to the Staff and State Council of WACSSO, enabling the organisation to comply with the Associations Incorporation Act.

Conducting the organisation's elections in-line with the requirements of the WACSSO Constitution is also a responsibility within the CRO role.

Finance

As the Finance Officer, I am responsible for managing the finance requirements of the organisation, including liaison with external contractors, as directed by State Council.

I also provide financial reports and advice as required by State Council and President.

I am also responsible for identifying, evaluating and developing budgets, funding arrangements and grant applications for the organisation as directed by State Council and the President.

Training and Development 

I am responsible for developing and delivering a range of training and resources to affiliates across Western Australia. This includes webinars, which you can access on the website, or participate in, as they go live, on the Online Learning Community.

I also provide support and guidance to vacant electorates, with a focus on recruiting new State Councillors.

I also assist affiliates and State Councillors with enquiries and arising issues.

Sam Hardcastle

Administration Assistant

Sam is our treasured office all-rounder, she has been a member of the WACSSO team since 2011.

Sam assists affiliates with enquiries, ensures our CRM is populated with quality data, plus a little bit of everything else!
